Carriers, fare families and responsibility boundaries.
The operating carrier, marketing carrier, ticket issuer and airport can all be different nodes in one passenger experience.
Carrier roles
A marketing carrier sells or displays the flight under its brand; the operating carrier flies the aircraft and controls many day-of-travel processes. A codeshare can therefore produce a familiar flight code with a different check-in desk, baggage rule presentation or onboard service.
Look at the booking for both names and use the current instructions from the carrier that operates the segment. If the itinerary was sold by a travel provider, check what support path the booking conditions describe.
- Marketing carrier is not always operating carrier
- Fare rules are not universal across an airline
- A codeshare is a relationship, not a guarantee about every service
Network and low-cost patterns
Network carriers commonly build connections through hubs and package more of the journey into fare families. Low-cost carriers commonly unbundle seat selection, baggage and other services. Regional carriers may be essential for the first or last leg. These patterns are useful for questions, not substitutes for the live booking.
When comparing options, add baggage, seat, airport access and disruption resilience to the decision. The cheapest visible fare is not always the simplest or lowest-total-cost journey.
Policy change discipline
Airline rules can change by date, route, fare, aircraft and regulatory context. FLAPEX SENS intentionally does not publish fixed baggage fees, check-in deadlines or route schedules as universal facts. The official carrier page and booking confirmation take priority.
If a change affects a connection or a document check, keep a record of the current instruction and ask the carrier before the airport if the answer is material.
Official resources belong to the final decision.
